Attention Vendors Ė Please ReadApplies in 2015

††††††††††††††† Thank you for making the Maxwell Street Days events a success.Your participation last year enabled many community organizations to continue to provide services to Mukwonago.However, to make the event more successful for all vendors we are implementing some changes in both practice and policy starting in the 2014 season.They are as follows:


Reinforcement of existing rules:

1.       You will be expected to keep your property on your site/ sites.

2.       There is one vehicle allowed per site.

3.       There is no parking on what appears to be an unused aisle or site.

4.       Vendors with large vehicles and long trailers will have to purchase sufficient sites to accommodate everything.Or in the alternative drop off what they want on site and take the rest out of the park.Keep in mind that unless you can remove your truck, car, bus or whatever in a timely fashion removing it may become very challenging.

5.       You must enter Field Park through the north gate off NN and exit the park through the south gate onto 83.


New Policy:

1.       Every vehicle entering the park must have an authorized ticket clearly visible on the dashboard, on the driverís side.

2.       A trailing second car to bring in merchandise must either have vendor site ticket or get in advance a car pass at no additional charge.

3.       Second cars are to be quickly unloaded at the vendor site and leave the park immediately.



††††††††††††††† As noted above thanks to each of you the 2013 season was very successful.Our overall sales of vendor sites was up, particularly in the months of June and September and this created some unexpected challenges in terms of vendor site assignment and unfortunately also some disruption for some of the vendors. To be fair, most of you were not affected by any of this and you may not have even been aware that we were having some problems.Eventually, with your cooperation where these difficulties occurred they were ultimately resolved but not without some frustration on the part of everyone.We have taken some time to review what occurred and it is apparent that some of our past practices contributed to these isolated but never the less frustrating incidents.Let us briefly summarize for you what happened and why.


††††††††††††††† Because we had requests for more sites then had been purchased in the recent past it was necessary for us to use some grassy aisles that we had not been selling for some time.These aisles had often become convenient parking spots for vendors vehicles, second cars on grounds, trailers etc; indeed in a few cases a camp site.In an effort to be vendor friendly, we had not discouraged this practice and in some cases actually had said it was ok to park in those areas as we didnít intend to sell the sites.Please understand that until the weekend is over we have no way of knowing how many sites will actually be needed, this is because we allow vendors to purchase sites through the actual event.We also make every effort to ensure that a few vendors are not put on an aisle and left there isolated as they would get little or no buyer attention.Therefore, when we open up one of these aisles we are projecting if we need only a few more sites and thus a shorter aisle or a lot of sites and thus a longer aisle.The upshot of this in 2013 was when some vendors went to set up in their assigned sites they found they either could not get to them or they were actually occupied in some manner.


††††††††††††††† Because of this and in fairness to everyone we are all going to have to adjust to these changes.In general there are no significant changes to your use of the sites you purchase but please read all the rules including those changes noted above.This means a vendor who has in the past relied on a second transport car can no longer just tell us that is what is taking place.You will have two options, either purchase an additional site and ticket to get that second car into the park or obtain a free pass.We will not be charging for the car pass but like the ticket it must be placed on the dash of the vehicle on the driverís side and remain there while in the park.These car passes can be obtained at your request when you purchase the ticket or obtained on the day of the event at the Kiwanis barn just to the north of Field Park where vendors line up in the morning. Obtaining these on the day of the event will no doubt cause delays in you getting into the park and so you are encouraged to get them in advance.To get such a pass on the day of the event you will need to present your ticket for the event establishing that indeed you are authorized to enter the park.Issuing of car passes on the day of the event will only be done when there are no vendors waiting to purchase sites.†† Vehicles in with temporary passes must leave the park immediately after leaving merchandise for the vendor as they contribute to the congestion.


††††††††††††††† You are reminded that you must enter the park off from NN on the north and exit onto 83 on the south east of the park. This is to maintain a reasonable flow of traffic through the park and limit congestion.In addition we are going to be making an effort to enforce all these expectations so on both Saturday and Sunday you will find we are checking to see that vehicles, trailers, etc. are where they belong, if we find they are not you will have to stop what you are doing and immediately correct the matter.If you keep your vehicle on grounds you must keep your ticket on the dash of the vehicle, in front of the driverís seat, face up so it can be read.If we find this not to be the case and we are unable to locate the owner of the vehicle it is subject to being towed out at the ownerís expense.If you remove your vehicle from the park then you must keep your ticket at your site, on your person so we can verify you are an authorized vendor.
